The renowned television show, Come Dine With Me South Africa, is accepting applications until 29 August. Applicants stand the chance to be crowned South Africa’s top dinner party host along with a R10 000 cash prize.
Whether you are an aspiring chef, want to whip up that secret family recipe or have the skills to be the host with most then this is your chance to shine on Come Dine With Me South Africa, which returns to BBC Brit on DSTv channel 120 for its fifth season in the start of 2019.
Over 12 episodes, four strangers per episode will have the chance to wine, dine, entertain and impress one another with some hysterical outcomes in a competition to score the most votes and win the weekly cash prize.
Season four was filled with delicious food, hilarious antics, kitchen mishaps and cringe-worthy moments with some peculiar characters who had a few words of advice for aspiring contender of season five.
According to Pretoria business woman, Philipine Modomogale , the most important thing is to be relaxed and create a fun atmosphere.
This is the advice her fellow host, pole dancing fitness instructor, Carmi van Heerden took to heart. “The best part about being part of the show was feeling like a celeb, but don’t forget to give the audience something juicy to remember you by!”
Guest house owner Ian Perryman, whose alter ego Lady Scarlett also joined the party, recommends showing off all the different parts of your personality, including the colourful bits.
Ex pro-rugby player turned chicken farmer, Martin Mhlongo, who appeared in episode nine, said this sparked his motivation to chase his dreams of presenting and hopefully opening a restaurant franchise. He proposes letting your personality shine through in the dishes you prepare.
Past contestants agreed that hosting strangers in their house allowed for new friendships to flourish after the show.
It’s time to represent and give the audience a taste of what your area has to offer by signing up at www.BBCSouthAfrica.com.
