The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 2028. There has also been another coronavirus-related death, bringing South Africa’s total to 25.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced the new stats in a statement today [April 11]. He also stated that there have been 75 053 COVID-19 tests conducted to date.

The 25th person with COVID-19 to die is a 61-year-old male from the Western Cape who had underlying medical conditions included diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
“We convey our condolences to the family of the deceased and also appreciate the health workers that treated the deceased patient,” said the minister.
