Western Cape hospitals have reportedly amended COVID-19 Level 1 lockdown guidelines, in a move that will allow limited hospital visitation.
News24 reported on Thursday that this will commence under strict safety precautions.
“These guidelines will be assessed and implemented according to each facility’s current situation and capacity,” the provincial Health Department was quoted as saying.
Adults who are terminally ill will, however, not be allowed visitors. The same applies to COVID-19 positive patients under investigation, the report said.
Western Cape Premier Alan Winde on Thursday said that the province had 2195 active COVID-19 infections, with a total of 281 024 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 267 363 recoveries, as of 1pm.
