Dams in the Western Cape haven’t seen much change since the previous week. A lack of rain means that dams have increased by a minuscule 0.6% percent since July 20.
Western Cape Dams are currently sitting at 77.8% capacity, 0.6% higher than last week’s reading of 77.2%. The fullest dams are Steenbras Upper (99.2%), Berg River (97.6%) and Steenbras Lower (79.2%).
This small shift is markedly different to previous weeks, where large increases in dam levels have been recorded. On July 13, levels rose by 9.2% and on July 20, the Western Cape saw a 4.5% increase.
With mostly sunny skies and no rain predicted for the upcoming week, it seems unlikely levels will see a big increase in the coming week.
