Capetonians have a habit of coming together in times of crisis. Nowhere was this sense of community for our beloved Cape Town more evident than with the April, 18 fire that ravaged the slopes of Table Mountain.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to fight back the flames that threated to burn homes, including the renowned Disa Park towers in Vredehoek. To show love and gratitude for their heroes, the residents came together for a special tribute – a flash photo shoot.
The Disa Park trustees went on to express their heartfelt gratitude in a statement:
“We salute all our heroes from the fire-fighting units, the Disaster Risk Management Team (DMR), helicopter pilots and aerial support crew, Police Services, Devil’s Peak Vredehoek Neighbourhood Watch (DPV), and all volunteers, who selflessly and tirelessly assisted in extinguishing the blaze.”
