The bodies of an elderly couple was discovered in their Bonnievale farm home on Thursday. Both husband and wife are believed to have been in their 70s, and succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds.
Police found the victims in bed, and their car was later discovered on a neighbouring farm.
“A double-murder case has been opened for investigation, subsequent to an incident that left a couple in their seventies fatally wounded. According to reports, police attended to the complaint at Zandfontein farm,” South African Police Services (SAPS) spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, said to TimesLIVE.
“No one has been arrested so far.”
According to Ian Cameron, AfriForum Head of Community Safety, 23 farm attacks have taken place in the Western Cape since the beginning of the year.
