A farmer was allegedly attacked by two assailants in the early hours of Monday, September 30, and killed one in self defense. The attack is reported to have taken place on the Botterkloof farm in Malmesbury, just a day after there was another farm attack in Potberg, Bredasdorp.
According to police, two assailants made their way onto the premises and threatened the farm’s residents with “sharp objects”. The farmer, however, fought back and fired shots.
When one of the suspects was shot to death, the other fled the scene on foot. It is unclear whether the residents of the farm were left uninjured after the incident. It is believed that other suspects may have been involved in the incident as additional tracks were found at the scene.
