A fire has broken out in Hout Bay, and emergency services are on the scene dousing the flames.

According to a tweet by Working on Fire (WOF), three choppers, a spotter plane and fire fighters are trying to suppress a fire that broke out a short while ago.

NCC Wildfires shared a graphic earlier today warning people of high temperatures and strong winds expected in the Western Cape.

Earlier this year, on March 13, a fire swept through the township of Imizamo Yethu leaving 15 000 people homeless. Three people were killed in the catastrophic fire. Fire season started on December 1, and emergency services have continually warned Capetonians to be more cautious with braai fires, throwing lit cigarette out of cars and starting unnecessary fires.
