Five people were killed in an accident in Cape Town, and one person has been arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.
Arrive Alive confirmed the tragic accident in a post on their website.
“A major collision occurred at the intersection of Baden Powell Road and Japhta K Masemola Road, Macassar, Western Cape. A VW Golf and a Hyundai H1 involved in a T-Bone type collision hat resulted in 5 fatalities (4 persons died on the scene and 1 person in hospital this morning) and 1 injured person,” they said.
It is alleged that all passengers in the VW Golf were killed in the accident.
An initial finding determined that the driver of the Hyundai disregarded a stop sign and crashed into the VW Golf.
The driver of the Hyundai Minibus was arrested at the scene.
