A five-year-old boy, who was found wandering alone near Strandfontein on New Year’s Day, needs the help of the public to find his family. The little boy, named Siyabonga, only knows his mother’s first name, was found along Baden Powell Drive.
The passerby who found Siyabonga took him to the Strandfontein Police Station.
Speaking to the Daily Voice, Sandy Schuter, chairwoman of the Strandfontein Community Policing Forum, said that the little boy is now in the care of social workers. “I sent our counsellor to assist and she confirmed that he went with the social workers,” she said.
Police have launched an investigation to find Siyabonga’s mother, whose name is Ntosh, but have yet to make headway.
