Four bodies were found in Hout Bay at approximately 6.45am on Monday morning. The gruesome discovery is allegedly linked to ongoing taxi violence in the area.
According to reports, unknown suspects opened fire at the Hout Bay taxi rank this morning, killing four adult males in the process. Two additional passengers were injured during the incident.
Eyewitness accounts state that between 70 and 150 rounds were fired by the attackers.
More than 70 rounds shot non-stop in Hout Bay this morning at 7am @CityofCT @Our_DA !!! Second time in one week. This taxi violence HAS TO STOP! Why do you not take these taxi associations off the road or close down taxi tanks temporarily to teach them a lesson! pic.twitter.com/5rhOZzsfoX

Dear Roberto Quintas. Whom ever gave you the information about this morning’s mass shooting involving “30 gun shots” is obviously very hard of hearing. It was more like 150 gunshots. Please get your facts right before releasing statements. Thank you. @Our_DA @CityofCT

South African Police Services are on the scene to investigate the murders and maintain general law and order. The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
Hout Bay Main Road between Payne Street and HR Mandela Street has been closed following the incident.
Last week, a man who was allegedly a taxi driver was also found shot dead in the area, and eight suspects were arrested in connection to his death.
