There are still no leads in the case of the missing one-year-old toddler from Gansbaai in the Western Cape. The young Chesswell Makampies was last seen on April 17 in the Beverly Hills informal settlement after his father allegedly picked him up, News 24 reports.


The boy’s father, Cheslin Philander was arrested and charged with negligence after he allegedly left the child with his two brothers at their home. According to Netwerk24, Philander allegedly helped police look for his son on Friday, May 21. His two brothers were reportedly arrested as well.

Meanwhile, Police spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut indicated that the search for the young boy continues, but no new information has come forward. Philander will appear in the Hermanus Magistrate’s Court on 29 June.
