Humanitarian relief organisation, Gift of the Givers, are in discussion with the Indian Government and Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to offer aid to the country amid surging COVID-19 figures. As reported by SABC, India is currently experiencing a deadly second wave of coronavirus with more than 18 million cases recorded.

Gift of the Givers founder Dr Imtiaz Sooliman indicated the public can play a role in the purchase of oxygen concentrators, which Gift of the Givers is busy procuring. According to Sooliman their organization are busy purchasing oxygen concentrators and are communicating with the department of health, solidarity and a national ventilator group.”These machines were delivered at the height of the crisis in the second wave which saved thousands of lives and these machines if accepted by the Indian government will be ideal in addition to the oxygen concentrators to help the people of India save thousands of lives.” As reported by IOL, Gift of the Givers also invites those who want to participate in assisting India to make contributions.
