The residents of Rondebosch can sleep easier tonight knowing that three suspects, allegedly in possession of house-breaking tools and a stolen vehicle, were arrested by Metro Police on Saturday.
According to Metro Police spokesperson, Ruth Solomons, the three suspects were arrested after officers got a tip-off from the community. The criminals were driving around the area for several hours, which raised suspicion.
The officers from the Property Crime Task Team and the local neighbourhood watch apprehended the suspects in Milner Road. They were then taken to the Rondebosch police station.
“The officers set off to find the vehicle, assisted by the local neighbourhood watch. In Milner Road, the officers spotted the vehicle and requested the driver to pull over. A search of the vehicle found housebreaking implements and a canister of mace spray. The driver also could not account for ownership of the vehicle,” said Solomons.
