A grisly scene unfolded in Hout Bay after an on-duty police officer killed his wife, then turned the gun on himself.
The police officer (41), who was a Sergeant at Hout Bay Police Station, allegedly shot his wife (36) during a domestic dispute on Wednesday morning.
“It is alleged that the sergeant’s wife visited the police station, where her husband shot and killed her during an apparent domestic dispute,” Lieutenant Colonel André Traut told News24.
“He then shot and killed himself. The sergeant was on duty at the time of the incident.”

A death inquest docket, as well as a murder case, have been registered and are under investigation.
Hout Bay Police Station has been closed temporarily, and Camps Bay Police Station must now be used instead.
