Former President Jacob Zuma has handed himself in at a correctional services facility in KZN.
The Jacob Zuma Foundation confirmed via social media that the former president had decided to respect the Constitutional Court‘s “incarceration order.”

Police Minister Bheki Cele had until Midnight on Wednesday to impose the order and arrest Zuma. This comes after Zuma failed to hand himself over on the initial deadline on Sunday, reports ENCA.
In the early hours of Thursday, the Department of Correctional Services confirmed the arrest in a statement: “Mr Zuma will be taken through all the admission processes as per DCS regulations. Other relevant prescripts pertaining to admitting and orientating newly incarcerated persons will also be followed and executed,” the statement read.
The Constitutional Court handed down their 15-month prison sentence after Zuma refused to return to the state capture commission of inquiry. The announcement sent Zuma supporters into a frenzy, with many camping outside the gates of his Nkandla residence on Wednesday, declaring that they would stop any attempts of arrest, reports IOL.
The state capture commission refused Zuma‘s legal bid to freeze his arrest warrant and jail term, stating that they did not hold the power to overturn a committal by the Constitutional Court, reports EWN.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court will give its official judgment on Friday.
