Over the last few days, South Africa has been rocked by violent protests which have resulted in destruction and looting. As a wave of anger sweeps the nation, many are eager to transform this unfortunate situation into something that uplifts and inspires.
One such individual is Andrew Draper. Draper received that dreaded phone callĀ no caterer wants to get – “we’re cancelling the wedding.”
Unfortunately, the bride and groom made the difficult decision to cancel their wedding as riots and looting continue to grip the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
While there may not be scenes of a gorgeous newlywed couple all blissed-out on love, the couple graciously decided to donate the food to those in need to create a different and beautiful scene instead. The kind gesture extended to feeding the elderly at old-aged homes, reports Good Things Guy.
While there was plenty of food to be shared, there were no containers to package the deliciously cooked meals. Thankfully, Draper’s community stepped up to the plate and collected over 1000 containers.
Through the incredible generosity of the couple and the hard work of Draper and the community, 1000 individuals now have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious, warm meal.
