A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Sibusiso Dakuse.

The suspect will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, March 2.

This comes after police allegedly found a child’s body between the reeds on Kronendal Farm in Hout Bay. Police have not confirmed this is Dakuse’s body.

Dakuse’s father posted to Facebook on Friday, February 28 thanking the public for their thoughts and that they had identified their son’s body.

The Director of the Kronendal Music Academy that Dakuse attended posted to Facebook to express outrage at the death of one of their pupils.

“More than anything else, it is beyond comprehension that Sibusiso’s beautiful voice will not be heard again. Sibu, we saw you, understood you and we love you,” the post said.

This news comes at the same time community activists in Tulbagh  alleged that the body of an eight-year-old boy has been found in a nearby river.

According to Netwerk 24, the boy had told his mother he was going to go play with friends.

Farm worker activist Billy Claasen told the SABC that the police are busy on the scene, with the forensic services coming to collect the body.

Police have yet to confirm the discovery.
