This morning, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town organisers issued a statement postponing the three-day event to an unconfirmed later date.
The decision comes after heavy winds forced organisers to shut down festivities halfway through the second-to/last show, Stefania and Shana Morland, on Thursday evening. Fashionistas were asked to vacate the premises with orders to not take any selfies as it was a matter of safety.
Then, on Friday night, social media blew up as the wind once again interfered with the show schedule. All shows for the evening were called off and an official statement was made to postpone the event following the advice of engineering experts.
