At approximately 12:30 this afternoon the City’s Fire & Rescue Service responded to mountain slopes alight between Nettleton Road and start of Lower Kloof Road above Clifton.
“We currently have 5 firefighting appliances on scene. The City’s fire crews are working with Working on Fire and Table Mountain National Parks presently,” said City’s Fire & Rescue Service.
Kloof Road was closed to traffic between Camps Bay Drive and Lower Kloof Road due to the mountain fire.
The fire has been contained but it will take a considerable time to ensure that the area is completely safe.
At present no properties are in danger.
