Motorists are urged to take caution in Dido Valley area in Simons Town after a burst water pipe caused a massive mudslide, blocking the main road.
Emergency services have been alerted and are currently on the scene. The water line has since been closed off and cleaning operations have begun. However, the roadway remains closed from both directions as the cleanup continues. Vehicles are being diverted via Red Hill Road.

The railway has also been affected as the mud has covered the lines. Teams are reportedly awaiting a clean up crew from Metro Rail.
