A whopping 41 people have been arrested in the Muizenberg precinct over the course of this past week alone for various offences.
In a statement, Muizenberg SAPS reported that, in conjunction with other Law Enforcement agencies, they have arrested a total of 41 persons in the Muizenberg precinct for offences ranging from theft to murder during the week of October 16-21.
The Muizenberg precinct includes areas from Kalk Bay to Lakeside; Muizenberg through to Marina da Gama, Sheraton Park, Coniston Park; Seawinds through Hillview, Overcome Heights, Vrygrond and up to Pelican Heights.
“During various operations, which included the searching of drug houses, stop and searches and Vehicle Check Points (VCP’s), one person was arrested for murder, two for possession of narcotics, one for dealing in narcotics, seven for house breaking and theft, seven for theft, nine for assault common, five for robbery, four for domestic violence, one for possession of stolen property, one for drunken driving, one for Crimen injuria, two for MITP and two for Covid-19 regulation,” SAPS said in a statement.
“Acting Station Commander of Muizenberg SAPS, Lt Colonel Jakobus Lourens, commended his members for the job well done. He said he was thankful for the information provided and encouraged the community to continue trusting their local SAPS.”
