A local man’s proposal in a KFC has turned into a social media sensation that has taken the country by storm. Celebrities and members of the public are now rallying together to provide this newly engaged couple with their dream wedding.
Hector Kansi proposed to his now fiancé Nonhlanhla in front of a large crowd whilst dining at a Vaal KFC outlet. A video of the proposal was shared to Twitter, where it almost immediately went viral.

While some initially criticised Kansi for choosing a KFC to propose, many across the country have been inspired by the proposal and are now coming together to support the couple. Many South African businesses are also tweeted out to offer their services.
Takealot and FNB have each offered the couple R5 000, Puma SA is granting the couple with R10 000 each to use in their stores and Castle Lite SA is offering the couple an all-inclusive honeymoon.
Other businesses that have reached out to offer their services include Sun City Resort, Total SA, Tsogo Sun, Audi South Africa, Coca Cola SA and many more.

Many South African celebrities are also throwing their hat into the ring. Precious the Planner has offered her expert planning skills pro-bono, DJ Fresh has offered to DJ and Black Coffee is interested in covering the costs of groom and groomsmen suits.
