The National State of Disaster has been extended by Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, until September 15, 2020 according to the Government Gazette.
The Minister is “taking into account the need to continue augmenting the existing legislation and contingency arrangements undertaken by organs of state to address the impact of the disaster,” the Gazette reads.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on Saturday, August 15 at 8pm regarding the developments in South Africa’s risk-adjusted strategy to manage the spread of COVID-19.

President Ramaphosa is expected to reduce the nationwide lockdown to Level 2.
