Nigerian evangelist and self-proclaimed prophet Temitope Balogun (TB) Joshua has died aged 57 on Saturday, June 5. The cause of his death has not been confirmed as of yet.
Joshua was the founder of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations church in Lagos, Nigeria, but was well-known worldwide for his controversial beliefs, including a statement last year that he was able to “flush out” COVID-19.
The church said in a statement: “God has taken His servant Prophet TB Joshua home – as it should be by divine will. His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for and died for. As Prophet TB Joshua says, ‘The greatest way to use life is to spend it on something that will outlive it”.
Joshua made headlines in 2014 after his church building collapsed and more than 80 South Africans died. The collapse was found to be a result of negligence, reports Times Live.
