Over 35 000 cyclists took part in the 41st Cape Town Cycle Tour this morning, some donning their best superhero attire for the big race, others just plain ‘clowning’ around while they raced to the finish line.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour is the largest individually-timed cycle race in the world and draws competitors from all over South Africa and around the world.
Covering an epic route, the Cycle Tour takes participants around the Mother City and through its beautiful landscapes.
Each year, cyclists find creative ways to express themselves during the race, whether its by wearing a Banana in Pajamas costume or dressing as their favourite superhero in an effort to raise funds for their selected charity.
Here are a few cyclists showing off their fearless and unique outfits at the 2019 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
