Jeff Radebe, Minister of Energy, announced on Sunday that the price of petrol will indeed rise by 26c on Wednesday, 4 July.
The steep increase of 82c in June has already caused major strain on day-to-day living expenses and this additional increase is anticipated to only make money matters worse.
The fuel price increase has been attributed to the rand’s depreciation against the dollar, currently below average at R13.29 to the dollar – as well as a decrease in the price of crude oil and a decrease in the import price of petroleum products.
Petrol prices schedule for the different zones are expected to be available on Tuesday, 03 July 2018.
