South Africans from all walks of life made it to central Cape Town earlier today for a protest calling on President Jacob Zuma to step down.
Protesters carried posters with slogans indicating frustration with the alleged corruption that Zuma has been part of while head of state. Some protesters also chanted slogans, sang Struggle songs and the national anthem featured too.
Protesters walked from Kaizergracht Street in District Six to Parliament. The march, which started at 12 pm and lasted until 2:30 pm, was part of national events calling on South Africans to gather in public spaces and denounce Zuma’s presidency.
