Pupils of Die Duine Primary School in Lotus River were smiling this week as their newly renovated school was officially reopened.

The R42 million refurbishment included 25 standard classrooms, four Grade R classrooms with jungle gyms and four specialist classrooms (including a computer lab, art room, music room and multimedia centre), as well as a new school hall and ablutions.

The overhaul forms part of the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Delivery Initiative, a project to upgrade 25 schools in the Cape Town area, with 11 of those to be completed before the end of 2014.
