The present vacant lot that was once the home of the Tulip Hotel, which was demolished earlier this year, will be the new home of a lavish new Tsogo Sun hotel in September 2017.
The new 500-bedroom hotel complex, located on the corner of Buitengracht and Strand street, will cost a cool R680 million to construct and will consist of two products in one complex – a 200-bedroom, modern design SunSquare hotel and a 300-bedroom, new generation StayEasy hotel. Together they offer guests a range of affordable and stylish accommodation.
Included in the new Tsogo Sun development will be banqueting and and conferencing facilities, retail space as well as the fast-growing, casual dining concept Vigour & Verve.
Construction begins next month and should be completed by September 2017, in time for the peak summer tourist season.

Curious will this run on generators? Or rely on Eskom
Just what Cape Town needs. Another over-priced tourist trap that will be completely empty during winter.
