Riky Rick is sharing his thoughts on the vaccination rollout and he’s spitting some words of wisdom.

On Twitter, the local rapper (real name Rikhado Makhado) shared his ideas.

“Turn super spreaders into super vaxers,”- an iconic line and maybe it should be his next EPs title.

Mr Makhado expressed how “Mass Gatherers” have “huge databases” of people who need to be vaccinated so they can continue to operate in certain industries from restaurants to sports leagues.

Additionally, on ‘Vaccine Hestiancy’ he refers to some strategies the United States employed.

As Vox wrote in an article in early June, “In the midst of a disorganized, decentralized, and disappointing coronavirus vaccine rollout in the United States, some states and counties are turning to unlikely tools to get their allotted vaccines out to as many people as possible. In many Florida counties, for instance, Eventbrite has become the only way to sign up for the vaccine.”

Eventbrite is an event ticket sales platform in the US.

As has been strikingly evident, the US has seen many of its’ once severely impacted cities relieved from lockdown due to the vaccination rollout processes. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has dubbed the summer as the “Summer of New York City,” for example with regard to New York’s recent reopening from hard restrictions as per City & State New York.

Essentially, Riky Rick’s thought progression is to target the people in South Africa who want to go to events but by means of getting those event service providers to hop on the bandwagon of vaccine rollout, which makes sense.

Additionally, there is the issue of people not showing up to vaccine appointments in our country. Dischem in particular saw a high no-show rate which they combatted through SMS reminders. Riky Rick argues that the vaccine registrations need to be opened up to more of Mzansi, and particularly those who have motives like wanting to be able to enjoy events again.

Given that the restaurant, music and entertainment industries as a whole have been hit as hard as they have, targeting these kinds of consumers as Makhado implores, is an initiative that would be beneficial both health-wise and economically.

Boss Zonke is definitely onto something.
