Are you working in the CBD tomorrow or planning to visit it? You may want to take note of these road closures for the annual minstrel carnival taking place on the 5th January 2015.
The carnival will begin at 12:00 pm and continue throughout the day until 23:30 pm, making its way through the traditional Bo-Kaap course.
Visitors or those working in the city are being advised that no parking will be allowed in Keizersgracht, Darling, Adderley, Wale and Rose streets from 6:00 to 11:00 on the day. Also, there will be no access to public transport on these routes and only accredited traders will be allowed through.
Roads temporarily closed between 10:00 and 23:00 on Monday 5 January 2015:

Wow, what an ignorant comment. This is a proud tradition that besides honouring their heritages also generates some tourism for us. Not only that, but it is such a huge industry in term of organising the entire event a whole year long, that it actually generates jobs for the people organising the event. The participators are not just dancing and singing, but actually competing with each other to win money that is geared toward upgrading community facilities such as schools and libraries.
