A man was allegedly assaulted and stabbed in the arm at Sunrise Beach in Muizenberg on Friday morning. Two unknown assailants attacked three runners when they were at the beach, the incident took place before 9am on Friday, December 18.

Fortunately, the man who was stabbed was not critically injured.

Please be aware that running on [or] near the beach before 9am may be riskier as there are less people around,” warned the Muizenberg Improvement District.

They urge residents to be cautious and exercise in areas with more people, as it is safer.

The public is only allowed to visit Cape Town’s beaches between the hours of 9am and 6pm, according to the current lockdown restrictions that are meant to stifle the second wave of infections.
