As of April 20, South African’s total confirmed coronavirus cases are now at 3300 with four new deaths and 165 more patients recovered.
The number of recovered local coronavirus patients has officially pushed past the 1000 mark with a total of 1055 patients recovering from the virus. The total number of deaths is now at 58.
The provincial breakdown is as follows:
Gauteng: 1170 confirmed cases, seven deaths, 545 recoveries
Western Cape: 940 confirmed cases, 17 deaths, 216 recoveries
Kwa-Zulu Natal: 639 confirmed cases, 23 deaths, 151 recoveries
Eastern Cape: 310 confirmed cases, five deaths, 15 recoveries
Free State: 105 confirmed cases, five deaths, 74 recoveries
Limpopo: 27 confirmed cases, 1 death, 21 recoveries
North West: 25 confirmed cases, 0 deaths, 13 recoveries
Mpumalanga: 23 confirmed cases, 0 deaths, 14 recoveries
Nothern Cape: 18 confirmed cases, 0 deaths, six recoveries
Unallocated: 43
Tests have been conducted on 121 510 patients in both public and private sectors, a significant increase in testing has been experienced in all provinces across the country.
