A taxi collided with seven horses on Baden Powell Drive in the early hours on Wednesday, killing them all. Baden Powell Drive between the N2 and Japhta K Masemola Road was closed in both directions but has since been reopened.
“In the early hours of this morning a mini bus taxi collided with 7 horses that had strayed onto the roadway. There were no passengers in the taxi and the injured driver was taken to hospital,” said Wayne Dyason, Law Enforcement Inspector for the City of Cape Town.
A single driver was found behind the wheel of the taxi, and has been taken to hospital although his condition is unknown. The roadway was closed for clean-up operations but has since reopened.
