Several people were also killed in Kayamandi in the same year when land grabs by fringe political figures made headlines. Land grab leader Midas Wanana was murdered in September in what was believed to have been a power struggle for the control of Kayamandi, Times Live reported.
The trio, who were between the ages of 46 and 56, were supposed to make their first court appearance in Stellenbosch on Wednesday, June 2 on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
