Table Mountain has always been a strong, proud centerpiece of the Cape, even before man inhabited it. While we have always considered it a wonder of the world, it has only been five years since it has officially been a New7Wonder of Nature.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the honour, Table Mountain has launched  a competition across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Starting on Friday 11 November, Table Mountain Cableway are asking you to take a picture through one of the seven giant yellow N7W frames. The frames have been installed all over the city, giving you a great vantage of the mountain.

Taking pictures at one of the iconic frames has become a must for locals and tourist alike. Snap your best pic and post it using #TableMountainN7W and you could win a fabulous prize. The best picture or pose at each frame will win. Here is a map of all the frames locations:

Bernard Weber, the Founder-President of New7Wonders, says that  South Africa had done a great job of showcasing Table Mountain’s natural beauty through its N7W frames legacy project.

‘Being elected one of the New7Wonders of Nature is a distinctive honour for the host countries of each of these 7 marvelous locations. But to be elected is one thing; to manage these sites sustainably and to maintain the legacy is another challenge,’

Cableway Marketing Manager Collette van Aswegen says: The increase in South African (especially Capetonian) visitors to Table Mountain has been the most exciting legacy for us. South Africans who have never visited the mountain are not only more aware of the landmark’s significance, but are also more aware of the importance of conserving it for future generations.’

So to celebrate our amazing mountain and the hard working people who keep a top class attraction. Go on and take you  #TableMountainN7W.
