Cape Town lost a hero on Sunday. Tributes have been pouring in for pilot Bees Marais, the helicopter pilot who lost his life while on duty at Olifantsbos, Cape Point.
On a walk in Newlands Forest yesterday we came across a memorial for Bees at the Newlands Forestry Station. Cards, letters and flowers were laid down as a tribute to the man who passed while bravely doing a service for our city.
