Two men linked to the Outlaw gang from Valhalla Park, Cape Town, have been arrested. Gang-related activities have spanned from May 2014 until the end of 2015, which included an infamous war between the Outlaw and Rude Boys gang.

According to IOL, Cheslyn Abrahams was convicted of five counts of murder, seven counts of attempted murder, four counts for being in the possession of an illegal firearm and four counts of possession of ammunition, as well as charges that relate to the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA).

Antino Sassman was convicted in association with the POCA and the possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

The war between the Outlaw gang and Rude Boys gang was related to drugs and territory in Valhalla Park.

Crimes committed by Abrahams were all linked to Rude Boys territory.

Abrahams is a highly ranked member of the Outlaw gang. During his rampage, which spanned from May 29 2014, until September 28 2014, he attacked rival gang members as well as shot bystanders trying to help those who had been injured.

Victims shot by Abrahams were members of the rival Rude Boys gang as well as innocent members of the public, including a Somalian shop owner and 3-year old girl, who survived.

According to investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Clement Petersen, the entire Rude Boys gang was almost wiped out in the surge of chaos at Valhalla Park.

The war is allegedly the result of a shift in power among high ranking members of the 28s gang. The Outlaw and Rude Boys gangs fall under the 28s umbrella.

According to IOL, the accused have been remanded in custody. Sentencing is expected to begin on June 29.
