Camps Bay High matric students, Drew Goldie and Sebastian Byrnes have been raising awareness for the big cats in captivity, not only in South Africa but worldwide.

The determined duo have been advocating for the rights of big cats for the past six years, and have raised over R78 000 with their Big Cat Youth Collection. This consists of handmade lion teddies for different ethical Big Cat Sanctuaries in South Africa, according to good things guy.

Currently, they are raising funds for the Train Tiger Rescue, with the aim of rescuing four Bengal tigers who were part of a travelling circus, and were abandoned in a train truck in Argentina.

The Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary and The Wildlife Advocates Foundation have relocated the tigers, and have offered the tigers a forever home at their sanctuary in South Africa.

According to Goldie, R7400 has been donated to the Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary to rehabilitate the tigers once they arrive in South Africa. If anyone would like to donate towards the veterinary and daily care of the tigers, kindly click here.
