Wilderness Search and Rescue retrieved the two bodies. The woman was taken down the mountain by cable car late on Monday night.
WSAR’s Johann Marais said they appreciate the public’s patience throughout the ordeal.
“We thank the public for understanding the predicament and the reason why we had to call for the assistance of the cable car,” he said.
The Table Mountain Cableway will resume their normal operating hours this morning.
