A crash on Swartklip road resulted in the deaths of two people on Monday morning after a collision between a car and a Golden Arrow bus in Cape Town’s southern suburbs.
The car, a Volkswagen Polo, became wedged under the back of the bus, causing the crash.
Speaking to News24, Western Cape Chief of Traffic, Kenny Africa, confirmed that both occupants of the Volkswagen died in the crash. “The driver and the passenger of the Polo motor vehicle died in this gruesome accident,” he said.
He added that commuters must make use of alternative routes between Morgenster and Hillcrest roads.
A tree also fell over onto a vehicle as it drove on the N1 towards Paarl last night. Although no injuries have been reported, the N1 between Klipheuwel and Klapmuts was temporarily closed.
Tree in roadway on the N1 outbound before Klapmuts, road obstructed, expect delays.
