With the holiday season approaching, many of us find ourselves restricted to outdoor festivities. However, there are creative ways to enjoy the summer holidays from the comfort of your own home through learning some new and interesting things you wouldn’t have explored before.
The annual UCT Summer School programme will be going virtual for the first time in its 71 years from January 11 – 30, 2021.
The online programme offers a festival of knowledge that brings you the latest discoveries in science and medicine, travel, writing and contentious debates in education and economics. It offers over 85 course topics across a range of disciplines that are open to anyone regardless of higher educational qualification.
Participants will be able to engage with researchers, scholars, and well-known public commentators from the worlds of politics, arts, science, activism and human-rights who are able to share both their philosophical and practical responses to the country’s most pressing issues.
Anyone who is interested in learning new things and wanting to expand their knowledge on a broad range of topics that are relevant to society should feel encouraged to explore these new disciplines and ideas.
Tickets range from R75 per lecture making it affordable, accessible and open to all. Bookings are open to apply for your chosen course topic. For further information visit http://www.summerschool.uct.ac.za/ or https://bit.ly/3nfSQ9W
