Richard Branson and his team over at the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada are looking to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Parade of Kitesurfers.
In a video released earlier this week, Branson urged Cape Town’s kite surfing community to get behind a record-breaking attempt (hosted by the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada and WeChat) from Dolphin Beach to Doodles in Blouberg, between 29 and 31 January – this weekend.
Spain holds the current record with 352 kite surfers, which was set in January last year, but Branson laid down the challenge for local kitesurfing enthusiasts to come out in droves.
The entry fee gets you entry into the record attempt, a branded rash vest and a four-month SAKA membership (if you don’t have one already).
