A bus driver sustained serious injuries when a MyCiti bus was petrol bombed in Woodstock on Monday evening. A passenger was also injured in the attack.

Firefighters responded to the incident and arrived at the scene just before 10pm. City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Theo Layne, confirmed that the attack took place on Roodebloem Road and also confirmed the injuries of the bus driver and passenger.

Layne said both were transported to hospital.

Several MyCiti buses have been razed around Cape Town within the past few weeks, including two attacks in Milnerton and one in Khayelitsha.
