The Western Cape has 1846 active COVID-19 infections, with a total of 283 776 people having been infected, and 270 196 recovery stories, as of 1pm on April 29. The vaccine totals have been delayed and will be updated on, Friday April 30, reports Premier Alan Winde.

As of 1pm on 29 April, the Western Cape has 1846 active COVID-19 infections, with a total of 283 776 people having been infected with COVID-19 to date and 270 196 recoveries.

Here is a breakdown of the province’s COVID-19 figures:
- Total confirmed number of people ever infected with COVID-19 in WC 283 776
- Total recoveries 270 196
- Vaccines administered to be announced
- Total deaths11 619

- Tests conducted 1 529 558
- Hospitalisations 751, of which 149 are in high care or ICU
The Western Cape has recorded 6 additional deaths since Wednesday 28 April, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the province to 11619. Meanwhile, on Thursday April 29, Winde launched the Western Cape Government’s multi-sectoral emergency response plan to reduce the spread of TB in the province. This plan is data-driven and iterative, which means that it will develop and strengthen further as it is implemented.
