A severe weather warning has been issued for the Mother City for Saturday, June 27, as an intense cold front is expected to make landfall. It will bring with it gale-force winds, rain and rough seas.
“We remind residents to please clear out any potential blockages around their homes and ensure that gutters and downpipes are clean,” said Charlotte Powell, City of Cape Town Disaster Managament spokesperson, in a statement.
“In low-lying areas, please dig a trench around your home if possible, to allow water to run off and reduce the risk of localised flooding. All City services and external agencies will be on standby to deal with the predicted adverse weather conditions.”
A maximum temperature of 16°C has been predicted for Saturday, June 27, with a minimum of 13°C. There is a 90% chance of preciptation, with windspeeds of 51 kilometres per hour.
