We were fortunate to have been blessed with a generous amount of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, with temperatures dipping enough to provide the higher Western Cape peaks with a dusting of snow.

Although the snowfall was nowhere near as significant as last month’s big chill, the water run-off from the melting snow will be a welcome addition to our dams.

By this morning most of the snow had dissipated, but yesterday’s best viewing sites were at Matroosberg and the towns of Tulbagh and Worcestor.

Thanks to Snow Report SA for providing us with these superb photos of yesterday’s snow in the Western Cape.
