If there was any doubt that Cape Town was in the throes of winter, an intense winter storm has put those doubts to bed.
On Sunday, an advisory for the South African Weather Service issued a weather warning that a major cold front was on its way. The wet and frosty weather has kept emergency crews quite busy, like heavy downpours, cold temperatures, rough sea conditions, and strong winds have been battering the Mother City.
According to the Weather Service, the heavy rains are expected to continue today, Tuesday, June 29, as an impact-based warning has been issued:

Several areas such as Gugulethu, Khayelitsha and Philippi have also been experiencing localised flooding.
