The Western Cape is filled with a number of award-winning and lesser-known wine farms. The alcohol industry suffered greatly during the strict lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic and is still recovering.

Here are some wine farms to support, as we are now able to pay them a visit once again!

Bouchard Finlayson:

Located in the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, Bouchard Finlayson I sone of the country’s globally-acclaimed wine producers. It is known especially for its Pinot Noir, and it is located in one of the coolest wine-making regions of the Cape.

“The vineyards are surrounded by an indigenous floral conservancy alive with birdsong and wildflowers. Beyond the beauty of the farm itself, you can discover the enchantments of the local area. Some of the popular attractions of nearby Hermanus include whale-watching; shark-cage diving; mountain hiking or biking; browsing art, antiques and shops; and of course, the white sandy beaches,” the wine producer said.

They offer a wonderful vintage tasting, which is well worth the money.

Before you leave, make sure you get to try one of the Bouchard Finlayson Galpin Peak Pinot Noir.
